AD9959 4-Channel DDS Module RF Signal Generator AT Commands Serial Output Frequency Sweep AM
Parameters:
- Item Name: AD9959 4-Channel DDS Module
- PCB Size: 67 x 60mm
- Supply Voltage: USB 5V or Serial 5V (Can not be powered at the same time)
Description:
The AD9959 module integrates MCU control and can be directly serial output. Various functions of the module are controlled by AT commands, which makes it easier to use. With four independently controllable channels (frequency, amplitude, phase), it can realize frequency sweep, 2FSK, 4FSK and AM functions. The output frequency can be up to 200MHz, which can be directly connected to a computer via a USB cable.
AD9959 consists of four direct digital frequency synthesizer (DDS) cores, each of which provides independent frequency, phase, and amplitude control. This flexibility can be used to correct imbalances between signals caused by filtering, amplification, and other analog processing or PCB layout mismatches. Because all channels share a common system clock, they are inherently synchronized and support synchronization of multiple devices.
Its serial I / O port provides an operating mode compatible with SPI. Four data pins (SDIO_0 / SDIO_1 / SDIO_2 / SDIO_3) correspond to four programmable modes of serial I / O, which provides flexibility.
Using advanced DDS technology, the AD9959 provides high performance at low power. This device integrates four high-speed 10-bit DACs with excellent broadband and narrowband SFDR performance. Each channel has a dedicated 32-bit frequency tuning word, a 14-bit phase offset, and a 10-bit output multiplier.
DAC output uses supply voltage as a reference source and must be connected to AVDD via a resistor or AVDD center-tapped transformer. Each DAC has its own programmable reference source to achieve different full-scale currents for each channel.
This DDS module can be used as a high-resolution divider when using REFCLK as an input and an output from a DAC. All channels share the REFCLK input source. The REFCLK input source can be driven directly or used with the built-in REFCLK multiplier (PLL) up to 500 MSPS.
The programmable range of PLL multiplication factor is 4-20, with integer steps. The REFCLK input also has an oscillator circuit that allows an external crystal oscillator to be used as REFCLK source. The frequency of crystal oscillator must be between 20MHz and 30MHz. Crystal oscillator can be used with REFCLK multiplier.
The AD9959 is available in a 56-pin LFCSP package, saving space. The DDS core (AVDD and DVDD pins) is powered from a 1.8V supply. Digital I/O interface (SPI) operates at 3.3V and requires DVDD_I / O (pin 49) to be connected to 3.3V. The AD9959 operates in the industrial temperature range of -40 °C to 85 °C.
