ANTLIA 36mm 3nm Pro Narrowband Filter OIII Astronomical Accessory for Deep Space Photography

Description:

- Antlia 3nm is an extremely narrow bandwidth filter designed specifically for deep space photography, allowing only high transmittance of light with a 3nm bandwidth centered at wavelengths of 656.3nm, 671.6nm, and 500.7nm. This is the wavelength corresponding to the H-alpha, SII, and OIII emission lines. The design of the extremely narrow bandwidth can effectively improve the contrast of this band, highlight the details and layers contained in the nebula, and effectively suppress interference from other bands, especially artificial mercury/sodium lamps.
- The design of this series of filters is aimed at improving the contrast in nebulae during astronomical photography, reducing background interference, and highlighting the details and layers of nebulae. We require a cutoff of OD5 (above 0.00001) to reduce interference from other bands.
- Suitable for most celestial bodies emitting nebulae, planetary nebulae, and supernova remnants, it can effectively highlight the details of H-alpha, SII, and OIII contained in these celestial bodies.
- The design of extremely narrow bandwidth results in low light flux of the filter. We recommend using a large aperture telescope and extending the exposure time to collect enough light flux to display the details and layers of faint celestial bodies under the H-alpha extremely narrow filter.

Features:
- High contrast and high signal-to-noise ratio: Antlia 3nm Pro adopts a new coating technology, double-sided multi-layer coating. Although this exponentially increases the coating time and cost, it can achieve better contrast. By suppressing background interference, narrower passband can achieve better results, providing excellent and weak detail levels and contrast for nebulous celestial bodies.
- Finer star points, smaller halo: The Antlia 3nm Pro's ultra narrow band and high cutoff design makes its star points finer and reduces the halo of bright stars. We actually tested that there is no halo under zero magnitude stars, even bright stars like Alnitak (1.46) can reduce the halo.
- The design of the extremely narrow bandwidth results in a low light flux of the filter. We recommend using a large aperture telescope and extending the exposure time to collect enough light flux to display the details and layers of the faint celestial bodies under the 3nm Pro extremely narrow filter.

Application and Performance:
- A very narrow filter designed for astronomical photography, suitable for capturing emission nebulae, planetary nebulae, supernova remnants, and other celestial bodies containing OIII components.
- Pairing SII and Ha filters allows for post production of Hubble colors.
- This filter does not brighten up deep space objects, it only filters out light from other bands, highlighting the contrast of the bands.
- This filter is not recommended for visual inspection of deep space celestial bodies.
- This filter is not suitable for observing and shooting the sun.
