LSM9DS1 is a single chip with multi function, motion sensing system. It has a 3 axis accelerometer, 3 axis gyroscope and 3 axis magnetometer - in a single nine degrees of freedom (9DOF) IC! The LSM9DS1 is equipped with a digital interface, which supports I2C and SPI, so it's hard to find a microcontroller that can't make it work. The IMU-IN-A chip is too cool, we put it in the current view the 1/4 size distribution boards!
The LSM9DS1, can measure the angular velocity, acceleration and course - in a single chip. By measuring these three properties, you can get a lot of knowledge of the movement and direction of an object. The LSM9DS1 measure each of these motion characteristics in three ways. This means that it generates 9 data: acceleration in X / Y /, X / Y / Y and magnetic force in X / Z / Z / Z. The LSM9DS1 tag indicates the accelerometer and gyro axis azimuth, they share with each other between the right hand rule.
In LSM9DS1 each sensor supports a wide range of spectra: the accelerometer's ratio can be set 4, 8, -+2, or 16 g, the gyroscope supports + 245, 500, 2000deg/s, and the magnetometer has a ratio range of 4,-+2, 12, or 16 Gauss.
