Function Introduction:
VU1-PRO is a multifunctional device that integrates VU meter and RCA/XLR switcher. While switching audio signals, you can enjoy the visual experience brought by VU meter. ACG & DB Mode Description:
- AGC: The automatic gain mode is actually a compression mode. The function is the same as the professional VU driver board. It is a square root audio compression. When the volume is low, the compression is very small. The larger the volume, the greater the compression. The maximum is 3 times compression ratio. So in this mode, the pointer beating is more suitable for daily use. It is more consistent with human perception.
- DB mode: No compression. The pointer and the volume are 1:1. For example, it is not actual data. If the input voltage is 0.1V and the pointer swing angle is 10 degrees, then input 0.5V and the pointer will swing 50 degrees. This mode is more suitable for situations where you need to know the true level.

One-Click Filtering of Environmental Noise:
First play the music normally. Use the GAIN knob to set the pointer in the appropriate range, that is to make the pointer jump about 50% to 90% of the dial, and then pause the music. Long press DB/AGC button for 3 seconds and keep it. Until the 4 LED lights (MIC/LINE/DB/AGC indicator lights) light up, release the button to enter the environmental noise filtering function. The system will set a fixed threshold according to the collected actual environmental noise intensity, filter out the highest noise, and the time will last about 3 seconds. When the setting is completed, it will automatically exit the setting. 2 LED lights of the 4 LED lights will turn off, indicating that the setting has been completed. Just play the music again at this time. Note that before this function is exited, in addition to the real environmental noise, do not artificially make other sounds, such as talking, or playing other music or moving the machine will affect the setting inaccuracy.

The environmental noise filter function can only filter up to 50% of the maximum value of the pointer swing, and the noise beyond this position cannot be filtered. It is recommended to adjust the GAIN to reduce the swing range of the hand.

Once the environmental noise filter function is set, it will work in both LINE and MIC modes. If you plan to restore the default value without powering on, you can adjust GAIN to the minimum and then enter the environmental noise filter function again.

It should be noted that the setting value of the one-key filter environment noise function does not support power-off saving. After power-off, (referring to unplug USB power supply), it will restore the default value when it turns on again. In the soft shutdown state, it is only shut down by pressing the key if the USB power cord continues to supply power, the set value can be temporarily stored in the memory.

FAQ:
Q1: The Meter's pointer is fuzzing, even when there is no music.
A1: Resolution 1: The USB power supply is of poor quality. The power supply has large ripples and causes great interference. It is recommended to change to a better USB power supply.
Resolution 2: VU1-PRO and player's audio source share a USB power supply. This causes common ground interference. Please be sure to supply VU1-PRO separately.

Q2: The backlight brightness of the two meters of the machine is not the same.
A2: VU1-PRO uses a tungsten bulb as the backlight of the meters. During transportation, the tungsten filaments in the bulb may become entangled and shortened due to vibration. The internal resistance becomes smaller. Therefore, the brightness is different. You can manually adjust the backlight of the two meters by adjusting the resistance of the backlight brightness on the rear panel of the machine.
