RetroScaler2x AV Converter and Line-Doubler AV to HDMI Converter (Red) for PS2/N64/NES/Dreamcast

Features:

- Signals / Resolutions: The retroscer2x can accept 240p / 480i / 288p / 576i NTSC / PAL sources to convert to HDMI-compatible 480p / 576p compliant output (480p for NTSC, 576p for PAL). For example, 240p signals are well supported, allowing for fully progressive line-double at 480p. 480i signals are de-interlaced and doubled at 480p as well. Please note that the output resolution of this device is only up to 480p / 576p.
- Zero Delay: The retroscer2x is a zero delay device, tested using multiple measurements and different devices.
- Region Compatibility: NTSC and PAL signals are compatible, but they are not converted to each other. That means you can plug in the signal your target device supports, but NTSC may not work on PAL HDMI compatible devices and vice versa.
- Filter Modes: The "FIL" mode is entirely based on preference, but the average retro gamer prefers FIL mode off for 2D games (for SNES, Genesis, etc.) and on for 3D games (for N64, Saturn, etc.). Also, FIL mode can help reduce flicker with some 480i-only games.
- Compatibility: Another great feature of the RetroScaler2x is that it outputs a true 480p60 signal, making it compatible with all the devices I tested it with! Compatibility is a big problem for retro gamers, as modern screens are not used for the resolution or refresh rate of these old consoles. This device is an excellent aid for streamers who want the highest chance of compatibility.
- Performance-Audio: The Audio performance of the RetroScaler2X is good, although we couldn't say it was perfect. In general, there are no problems with digitizing the audio, but in the bra it sounds like explosions, the output may sound a bit rougher than it did through the OSSC. This is not something you are likely to even notice on a TV speakers, although you may have an external amplifier or a home theater system. In that case, of course, it's generally perfectly easy to route the audio around the RetroScaler2X anyway.
- The Pass-through: By putting the RetroScaler2X into pass-through mode, incoming composite, s-video or component signals are simply transparent and digitized into HDTV-compatible. Support for 240p is rare in the world of HDTV-compatible, but by adding a simple HDTV-compatible to VGA converter, you can convert the signal back to the analogue domain again. This makes the unit a perfect transcoder to go with 15KHz displays like PVMs, or of course, the OSSC.
