SkyTracker Pro 2025 EASY Version Portable Equatorial Mount with Polaris Beacon Coaxial Laser Indicator for iOptron
Improvements:
- A clamp structure has been added between the main axis and the connecting plate of the equatorial instrument to prevent the failure of locking two screws on the connecting plate in case of accidents; The adjustment/locking screws of the base have been upgraded to aluminum alloy knurled screws, which are more durable and have a better hand feel.
- Polaris Beacon: For iOptron SkyTracker Coaxial Laser Indicator, high-precision coaxial calibration, used instead of polar scopes, can quickly align the polar axis in 30 seconds, with precision support for medium focus to wide-angle lenses in 5-15 minutes.
Precision Description:
- The tracking time of the equatorial instrument is related to many factors. Under the condition of aligning the polar axis and ensuring the rigidity and balance of the system, for iOptron small star field has a wide angle within 24mm, tracking for more than 10 minutes, tracking for 6-4 minutes from 24mm to 85mm at the medium focal length, and tracking for 1-3 minutes at the long focal length. The above measurements are for reference only.
- The rigidity and stability of the equatorial instrument and camera connectors: Before shooting, check whether the tripod is placed firmly, do not place it on wooden walkways or soft mud, and check whether each connecting part is locked.
- The load weight of the equatorial instrument (camera/lens/gimbal, etc.): When carrying heavy loads, it is best to use a balance kit to balance them and minimize the installation of unnecessary accessories.
- Balance of load on equatorial instrument: It is recommended to use an equatorial instrument to capture images for a period of time, and then adjust the table or equatorial instrument to return the camera to a horizontal position, so that the center of gravity of the load passes through the axis of the equatorial instrument as much as possible to reduce the lateral moment generated by the load.
- Check whether the equatorial instrument battery is sufficient. Please check the battery level before shooting, charge it in a timely manner, or use an external power supply.
- Whether there are external forces such as strong winds: Try to find a shelter to set up an equatorial telescope (near the car/against the wall, etc.), and if necessary, use your body to block the incoming wind.
