Connector:
- Use 3.81mm plug-in terminal blocks as Ethernet interface connectors.
- Confirm the positive and negative ends of the twisted pair before use. Then fix the twisted pair screws on the terminals.
Power Supply:
- The converter can be powered by a standard 5.5mmDC power adapter or by USB Type-C.
- The power supply voltage is 5-15V, and exceeding 15V may cause irreparable damage to the hardware of the adapter.
- It is not recommended to power it by USB Type-C and power adapter simultaneously. Although the converter is equipped with anti backflow design, there are still risks involved.
Indicator:
- PWR: The indicator light comes on, indicating that the power supply to the converter is normal.
- Link: The indicator light illuminates to indicate that the device has successfully connected; The indicator light goes off to indicate that the device was not successfully connected.
Dial Switch:
- Dial-1: used to set the communication rate of the converter; Dial up to 100M and dial down to 1000M.
- Dial-2: used to set the master-slave mode of the converter; Dial up to "master mode" and dial down to "slave mode".
- Note: After switching the dial code for the regular version (without display), it is necessary to power it on again to take effect.
Key Settings:
- The onboard Ethernet device needs to distinguish between the master and slave modes. Only when the mode matches the counterpart can the connection be successfully established, which can be set through buttons and dial switches.
- AUTO: The converter supports automatic setting of master-slave mode. After pressing, the converter will detect the master-slave mode of the opposite and automatically switch to the corresponding master-slave mode.
- RESET: After pressing, the converter switches to the master slave mode set by the dial switch.
Display Description:
Set: used to indicate the current master-slave state of the converter
- “Slave” indicates that the current converter is in a slave state
- “Master” indicates that the current converter is in the host state
Speed: used to indicate the current working speed of the converter
- “1000M” indicates that it is currently in Gigabit Ethernet mode
- “100M” indicates that it is currently in 100 Gigabit Ethernet mode.
SQI: used to indicate communication quality
- “No_Link” indicates that the peer onboard Ethernet device has not been successfully connected.
- The number 0-15 indicates communication quality, and the larger the number, the better the current communication quality of the converter.
Mode: used to represent the current working mode
- “Manual” indicates that the converter is in manual mode, and the working mode of the converter is set based on the dialing status.
- “Auto” indicates that the converter is in automatic mode, and the converter will switch between master and slave modes according to the master-slave modes set by the opposite end to match the opposite device.
Connection Description:
- After the PC establishes a connection with the onboard controller through a converter, configure the controller and PC to be in the same network segment to achieve communication.
Stability Test:
- 15M twisted pair, communication stability test 100000 packets, 100 million bits without packet loss.
Communication Rate Test:
- Configure the converter to operate in gigabit mode: Two modules were tested for transmission bandwidth using for IPERF3, with a measured rate of up to 947Mbs/, approaching the limit of gigabit Ethernet communication rate.
- Configure the converter to operate in 100Mbps mode: Two modules were tested for transmission bandwidth using for IPERF3, with a measured rate of up to 94Mbs/, approaching the limit of 100Mbps Ethernet communication rate.
