ZSENK 1000M/100M Automotive Ethernet Media Converter (with E6S20A Connector for Rosenberger H-MTD)
Features:
* 1000Mbps automotive Ethernet converter: Automotive 1000/100BASE-T1 to RJ45 standard Ethernet.
* It supports dual power supply: It is compatible with Type-C and DC 4.5-36V at the same time.
* The 1000/100BASE-T1 converter has a full-speed communication distance of up to 30m/98.4ft.
* This product is used for the conversion between the automotive Ethernet network (BASE-T1) and the industrial Ethernet network (BASE-TX), and the transmission signal quality is stable.
* Both 1000BASE-T1 and 100BASE-T1 have good MDI compatibility. It is compatible with PHYs for Broadcom, NXP, Marvell, Ti, Realtek, JLSemi and Motorcomm.
* Both 1000BASE-T1 and 100BASE-T1 have polarity automatic identification capabilities and speed master-slave automatic-negotiation capabilities.
* After the DIP switch changes the speed or master-slave mode, the setting can take effect without re-powering up, and the internal controller will automatically restart the link negotiation. Both 1000/100BASE-T1 (vehicle side) and 1000/100BASE-TX (RJ-45 side) can automatically restart link negotiation.
* The converter supports DC interface or Type-C interface power supply. It also supports the coexistence of two power supply methods. When these two types of power supply coexist, the converter internal will automatically select the power supply terminal. There is no power conflict, no interference between the two power supply terminals or related concerns.
* It is compatible with a very wide power supply range (DC 4.5V-36V). It is easy to adapt to various debugging scenarios. It widely supports the operation of small vehicle (12V) and large vehicle (24V, 36V) equipment.
* The converter is equipped with a power supply anti-reverse function, avoiding any damage caused by the wrong reverse connection of the power supply.
* The power supply end uses a two-stage TVS protection + LC filter component, which effectively avoids the impact of power fluctuations. It adapts to the harsh power conditions in vehicle scenarios and effectively copes with interferences such as vehicle starter load dump.
* The professional BASE-T1 interface uses ESD protection and common-mode filtering technology.
* Through the BASE-T1 adaptive channel real-time compensation function, the PHY side will automatically compensate the channel (twisted pair) in real time to achieve the best signal-to-noise ratio performance.
* Using a 2.0mm reinforced DC female socket and an aluminum alloy shell, the connection is more stable.
* The converter is suitable for ambient temperature range from -45°C to +85°C, which meets the temperature application range of conventional automotive specifications.
Package Included:
* 1 x Media converter
* 1 x Flat Ethernet cable (2m/6.6ft)
* 1 x USB type-c cable (1m/3.3ft)
With E6S20A Connector for Rosenberger H-MTD:
Legacy mode is supported. It supports for Marvell's legacy 1000Mbps mode and earlier in-vehicle Ethernet devices for Tesla Model S and the like. The converter can be preset by DIP switches. The settings are shown in the following table:
According to the automotive Ethernet standard, BASE-T1 supports MDI automatic polarity switching in 1000Mbps mode. In 100Mbps mode, when the converter is in slave mode, the converter on the slave side will adapt to the master connected to it and perform polarity detection and polarity flipping. And the initial polarity in the link is determined by the master terminal.
This converter has the most complete MDI polarity automatic detection capability.
Attention:
* If the automotive Ethernet device connected to this converter is the slave side and it does not support polarity adaptation (it does not have automatic polarity switching set or it is a non-standard automotive Ethernet device). The positive and negative terminals of the MDI must be correctly connected.
* The 1000Mbps auto-negotiation master-slave function of this product is not a "fully automatic" connection function. Auto-negotiation is a working state of the Ethernet standard. To use auto-negotiation, self-negotiation is required to be enabled on both PHYs at both ends of the automotive Ethernet where you want to form a connection. Some customers have specific mode testing requirements, so this product does not open the so-called "fully automatic" connection function (this function uses software control to poll the BASE-T1 port's operating mode cyclically until the connection is established), because this function may cause some testing errors.
* Most automotive Ethernet devices on the market use fixed mode, so it is recommended to use manual mode for T1 connection.
* Automotive Ethernet is divided into IEEE mode and Legacy mode. The IEEE standard mode is commonly used now, and the early 1000Mbps automotive Ethernet will use Legacy mode. A typical example is for Tesla Model S (Model S and Model X from 2021 to February 2022). Use Legacy mode when you want to connect it to the diagnostic system for Tesla Model S/X.
* 100BASE-T1 does not distinguish between IEEE mode and Legacy mode. When the device is running in 100BASE mode, the IEEE/Legacy DIP switch is invalid.

It has an at-a-glance status indicator panel with SQI (Signal Quality Indicator). It includes a real-time display of the following various converter statuses:
* BASE-T1 Activity (Automotive Ethernet activation status. The light is flashing after data exchange)
* BASE-T1 Link Up (Automotive Ethernet link status. The light will stay on after connection)
* BASE-T1 Master (Master indication for automotive Ethernet. It will stay on in Master state)
* BASE-T1 Slave (Slave indication for Automotive Ethernet. It will stay on in Slave state)
* BASE-T1 1000M/100M (Automotive Ethernet speed indicator indicates different rates)
* BASE-TX 1000M/100M (Industrial Ethernet speed indicator indicates different rates)
* AUTO (The indicator will stay on when automotive Ethernet is in 1000M automatic mode)
* BASE-T1 Signal Quality Indicator (Six levels of indication. All the signal quality indicators turn on, indicating that there is the best signal-to-noise ratio)
When no link exists for a BASE-T1 or BASE-TX interface, the corresponding LED group will blink and indicate.
